The Wareham Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Avon as Wareham made off with a 56-32 win. Wareham pushed the score to 47-19 by the end of the third, a deficit Avon cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Hanelie Cadet, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Uwa Idada was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 11 rebounds.
The victory (which was Wareham's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Avon, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Wareham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Avon, they will head out on the road to take on Westport at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Avon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Westport is ranked 15th).
