Clemens is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Eagle Pass is on an eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Buffaloes will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Clemens 3.7, Eagle Pass 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Clemens came out on top against Judson on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Buffaloes took their matchup against the Rockets 9-5.
Alexus Worthy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Ava Arnold was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bradie Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clemens kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.
Eagle Pass came out on top against Medina Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run second inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Eagle Pass also got a great performance from Sofia Torres as she tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Torres has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Eagle Pass let Karina Gomez and Michelle Torralba run wild. Gomez went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Torralba went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Krysta Ruiz, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Eagle Pass is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Clemens, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clemens hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .391. However, it's not like Eagle Pass struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clemens couldn't quite finish off Eagle Pass in their previous meeting back in February of 2017 and fell 3-1. Will the Buffaloes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
