Even though the Four Corners Coyotes have not done well against the Discovery Spartans recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went Four Corners' way against Discovery as Four Corners made off with a 42-21 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Four Corners.
Four Corners was led to victory by Karina Cruz and Mia Villanueva. Cruz scored 11 points along with 8 steals and 6 rebounds, while Villanueva scored 11 points along with 9 steals and 6 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cruz has scored at least 25% of Four Corners' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Carrion, who scored 5 points.
The win got Four Corners back to even at 2-2. As for Discovery, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Four Corners won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bell Creek Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Discovery will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Auburndale at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Auburndale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
