The Woodson Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the South County Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Woodson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Woodson pushed their score all the way to 57, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Fairfax 62-57. Woodson found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 4 on offense.
Despite their defeat, Woodson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sean Donovan, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Noah Limbago, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.
Meanwhile, South County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alexandria City. South County has not had much luck with Alexandria City recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Woodson's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for South County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
Woodson skirted past South County 50-48 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
