The Orange Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Orange will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Savanna, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Rebels on Wednesday. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Scarlett Poitra made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Chloe Vazquez and Liliana Nunez did most of the damage at the plate: Vazquez went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Nunez went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Anabelle Alvarado also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Meanwhile, Rancho Alamitos entered their tilt with Century two weeks ago with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Centurions with a sharp 21-8 win.
Like Orange, Rancho Alamitos also got a great game from a two-way player: Fernanda Cervantes. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off only two hits. Cervantes was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in five of her eight plate appearances with two doubles.
In other batting news, Rancho Alamitos got a massive performance out of Amalia Lopez, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Tabitha Sanchez was another key player, getting on base in five of her ten plate appearances with five runs and one double.
Rancho Alamitos hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Orange's record is now 7-3. As for Rancho Alamitos, their record now sits at 6-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Orange has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Rancho Alamitos struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Orange's way against Rancho Alamitos in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Orange made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
