There's no place like home for the Wiley Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They skirted past Cheraw 43-40. This was payback for Wiley, who suffered a 45-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Evan Larrick was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with three steals. Bo Arnold was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Wiley pushed their record up to 5-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Cheraw, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Wiley will be playing at home against Syracuse at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Syracuse presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wiley in their respective states (Syracuse is ranked 64th in Kansas, while Wiley is ranked 275th in Colorado). As for Cheraw, Cheraw and McClave will face off on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McClave has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
