The Medina Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Albion Purple Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Medina and nine for Albion dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-44, which was the final score in Medina's tilt against Newfane on Tuesday. Medina has not had much luck with Newfane recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Albion suffered a rough 55-34 defeat at the hands of Newfane back in January. While losing is never fun, Albion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 808th, while Newfane is ranked 177th).
Medina has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Albion, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Medina beat Albion 64-55 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Medina since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
