IMG Academy Black's tough 71-51 defeat to the Spartans might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for IMG Academy Black in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.
Jason Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Winthrop College Prep Academy, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Kai Brookins, who scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals.
IMG Academy Black's loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
