The Rushville-Industry Rockets lost against the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Rushville-Industry falling 51-37. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while Griggsville-Perry is ranked 203rd).
Griggsville-Perry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Myers, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Lipcaman, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
Rushville-Industry has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Griggsville-Perry, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.
Rushville-Industry will head out on the road to take on Barry Western at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Griggsville-Perry, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Beardstown at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Beardstown will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
