Homestead has gone 6-1 against Norwell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Spartans will welcome the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Homestead will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Homestead is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Adams Central a 17-0 shutout on Monday. With that victory, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Jacob Erb looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Homestead got a massive performance out of Gray Stockwell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Stockwell a new career-high. Cole Kintz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and three runs.
Homestead kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Norwell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Jay County on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-4 win. Considering the Knights have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Norwell also got a great performance from Ryne Thornton as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Noah Schamerloh was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Norwell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Trey Privett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Homestead pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Norwell, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Homestead has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Norwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Homestead skirted past Norwell 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
