Champaign Central posted their closest victory since September 18th on Saturday. They skirted past the Mattoon Greenwave 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Maroons in their matchups with the Greenwave: they've now won three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Mattoon lost, don't look at Brooke Jobe. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and one assist. Jobe has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Lillie Thompson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Champaign Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-20. As for Mattoon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-16.

Looking ahead, Champaign Central will challenge Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mattoon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Bloomington on the 4th.
