The Cairo Pilots scored the most points they've had all season to find success  on Friday. They claimed a resounding  89-50 victory over Zeigler-Royalton on the road. That  89-50 margin sets a new team best for Cairo this season.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cairo to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Jeserick Pilgram , who  scored 27 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which  Pilgram  has scored at least 25% of Cairo's points. Another player making a difference was  McKenlee Pirtle , who  scored 19 points.
 Despite the loss, Zeigler-Royalton still got an impressive performance from   River Freeman, who  scored 18 points. The  match was  Freeman's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lucas Rogers, who  scored eight points.
 Cairo has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season. As for Zeigler-Royalton,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-8.
 Cairo and Elverado will face off  at 11:15  a.m.  on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Zeigler-Royalton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thompsonville at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Thompsonville is coming into the  contest on a five-game losing streak.
