Volleyball Recap: Canyon Wins Going Away Against Brandeis

Canyon not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 12th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Brandeis Broncos with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Canyon was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.

Marlee Lightsey paced Canyon's offense, picking up 13 kills. Lightsey got some help from Logan Sanders and her 34 assists. Sanders also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ava Mead, racking up two apiece.

Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Brandeis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Canyon will challenge Dimond at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Brandeis, they will head out to square off against Vandegrift at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
