A Season-Best Effort from Rio Litmer Leads Highlands over Dixie Heights
Rio Litmer produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Highlands to the win on Friday. Litmer threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
Litmer and Highlands will venture away from home to challenge Boone County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluebirds got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Rebels, probably because Litmer had a solid game then too: he threw for 87 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing, and also rushed for 34 yards. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
