Wayne City dropped their record down to 5-9 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-2 to the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Zeigler-Royalton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Zeigler-Royalton, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Zeigler-Royalton's part, Chase Freeman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Freeman posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradden Mays, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lukas Moyers, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne City will face off against Cisne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Zeigler-Royalton, they will take on Vienna at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
