The Dumont Huskies were the 60-37 winner over the Lyndhurst Golden Bears when they last played one another back in February of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Dumont fell just short of Lyndhurst by a score of 40-37.
Asya Akar was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds for Lyndhurst. That makes it three consecutive games in which Akar has scored at least a third of Lyndhurst's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Mayer, who scored 13 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Dumont now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lyndhurst, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Dumont will head out on the road to face off against Montville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyndhurst will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pascack Hills at 10:30 a.m. on February 10th. Pascack Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Lyndhurst is ranked 117th).
