Swett has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The California School for the Deaf Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Swett beat Anderson Valley 32-28.
Meanwhile, California School for the Deaf had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They blew past Alabama School for the Deaf 56-12 at home. The result was nothing new for California School for the Deaf, who have now won five matches by 34 points or more so far this season.
California School for the Deaf can attribute much of their success to Aiden Shupe, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown, and Irving Senegal, who gained 188 total yards and five touchdowns. Lucas Gough was in the mix too, providing California School for the Deaf with two touchdowns.
Swett's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for California School for the Deaf, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Swett took a serious blow against California School for the Deaf in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, falling 36-6. Thankfully for Swett, Devan Vierra (who rushed for 158 yards and four touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
