The Mountain Ridge Sentinels are taking a road trip to square off against the Copper Hills Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Ridge will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Mountain Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Herriman, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Mountain Ridge was ranked fifth). The Sentinels skirted past the Mustangs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sentinels have posted since March 25th.

Sydney Lambert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Chloe Tycksen was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, while Copper Hills put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Corner Canyon. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Chargers. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.
Bryton Dawes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dawes was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dulce-Liliani Moreno, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Hotton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Copper Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Mountain Ridge pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Copper Hills, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mountain Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .420. However, it's not like Copper Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mountain Ridge skirted past Copper Hills 1-0 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sentinels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
