Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Howard Wildcats walked away with it. They skirted past Wilmington Friends 30-28. The win was nothing new for Howard as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Rahsaan Matthews, Jr, who rushed for 45 yards and four touchdowns.
Howard pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.5 points per game. As for Wilmington Friends, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3-1.
Howard will head out on the road to face off against Caravel at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Caravel is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Wilmington Friends does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
