Haddon Township extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-13. They came up short against the West Deptford Eagles, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in April.
Haddon Township saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Lyons, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
As for West Deptford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On West Deptford's side, Jordyn Ambrosius made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Ambrosius was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, K'Lee Liles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Julia Stewart was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haddon Township will host Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Deptford, they will face off against Gloucester City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
