Oyster River has won ten straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Coe-Brown Academy has won ten straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Bobcats will host the Bears at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Oyster River gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Sanborn Regional with a sharp 18-6 victory. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Morgan Trela made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Trela was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Oyster River let Gracy Spirito and Kaiya Mercier run wild. Spirito went 2-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Mercier went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Dejesus, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Oyster River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Coe-Brown Academy made easy work of Campbell on Wednesday and carried off a 15-2 victory.
The win got Coe-Brown Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Oyster River, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1.
Oyster River skirted past Coe-Brown Academy 3-2 in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
