Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian entered their tilt with Keswick Christian on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Crusaders. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Trigg Listerman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Braiden Price was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ian Jansen, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cambridge Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Cambridge Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Seffner Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Seffner Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Cambridge Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
