Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only University walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Monrovia Bulldogs a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Trailblazers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Caleb Stocker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, University got a massive performance out of Beckett Suh, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cooper Burnett, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
University kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since May 2nd.
University's record now sits at 17-11. As for Monrovia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.
As of now, neither University nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
