The Tahoma Bears came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over Kentridge. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Kentridge is ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kentridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sydney Esperanza, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayla Keowla, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Tahoma pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.91 points. As for Kentridge, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Tahoma will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kentridge, they will head out on the road to square off against Kentwood at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
