The Holy Spirit Prep Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 54-30 loss at the hands of Atlanta Girls' School. While losing is never fun, Holy Spirit Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while Atlanta Girls' School is ranked 240th).
Leading Atlanta Girls' School to victory were Ava Sanderson and Jade Williams. Sanderson scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Williams dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds. Sanderson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Isabel Sanderson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Holy Spirit Prep bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Atlanta Girls' School, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dominion Christian the next time they take the court. Atlanta Girls' School will host Dominion Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Holy Spirit Prep will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
