The Goddard Lions lost to the Eisenhower Tigers back in October of 2022, but The Goddard Lions didn't allow the Eisenhower Tigers the same satisfaction on Friday. Goddard came out on top against Eisenhower by a score of 22-14. Goddard pushed the score to 22-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Eisenhower cut but never quite recovered from.
Goddard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Johnson, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Wallace, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Pabst, who picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Pabst's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Another player making a difference was Derek Morgan, who threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
Goddard has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Eisenhower, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goddard will take on Maize at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eisenhower, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Andover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Andover is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
