Letcher County Central made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,748 from 9,878.
Leading 5A District 8 in both passing and receiving yards, Perry County Central's Nathan Pray and Tyler Fugate have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Pray has thrown for 449 yards this season, while Fugate has 16 catches for 208 yards. Carson Whitehead from Harlan County leads the league in rushing with 600 yards.
The Black Bears' offense has racked up 165 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Cougars / Lady Cougars have allowed only 108 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Harlan County takes on Letcher County Central. Tom Larkey's team is in third place, while Mike Holcomb's team is in second place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Black Bears take on the Cougars / Lady Cougars. Harlan County has allowed 121 points this season, while Letcher County Central has given up 108.
