Robertsdale is 8-2 against Foley since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Robertsdale Golden Bears will be home for the holidays to greet the Foley Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Robertsdale came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against St. Michael Catholic by a score of 50-40.
Robertsdale can attribute much of their success to Kole Singler, who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Singler scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Gabe Stevens, who scored ten points.
Foley can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Monday. They snuck past Navarre with a 63-58 victory. That 63-58 margin sets a new team best for Foley this season.
Ty Hunter was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Kaden Adams was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Robertsdale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Foley, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-12.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Robertsdale have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 33.3% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Foley, though, as they've only drained 35.5% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
