DeKalb is 8-2 against Bellmont since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Barons will head out to take on the Braves at 7:00 p.m. DeKalb's defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so Bellmont's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Eli McCormick was his usual excellent self, throwing for 107 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 58 yards and one score. Those 58 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Xavier Bell also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for DeKalb, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bell, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bellmont scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against New Haven, falling 45-22.
Despite the loss, Bellmont saw an underclassman step up: freshman Charlie Faurote rushed for 67 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 159 yards on 15 of 36 attempts.
The victory was the third in a row for DeKalb, bringing their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average over those games. As for Bellmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything came up roses for DeKalb against Bellmont in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 58-7 victory. In that contest, the Barons amassed a halftime lead of 58-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
