Mt. Diablo is 0-6 against Acalanes since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Mt. Diablo Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Acalanes Dons at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, it was close, but Mt. Diablo sidestepped College Park for a 2-1 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mt. Diablo.
Meanwhile, Acalanes has not lost a match since January 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Northgate a 1-0 shutout. Niko White had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Acalanes.
Mt. Diablo is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2-2 record this season. As for Acalanes, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-5.
Mt. Diablo came up short against Acalanes in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, falling 2-0. Can Mt. Diablo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
