Monacan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Cosby on Thursday. They came up short against the Titans, falling 9-1.
Monacan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Gee, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Midlothian strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Clover Hill as they made off with a 14-4 victory. Considering the Trojans have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Marlee Gaskell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Gaskell was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Bella Moussa was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Erika Fiege was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Midlothian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Midlothian pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Monacan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
