The South View Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Purnell Swett Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Purnell Swett will be up against a hot South View team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Tigers blew past Lumberton 13-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

JORDYNN PARNELL made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, South View let DESTINY SHOULARS and SAVANNA HARDEE run wild. SHOULARS went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while HARDEE went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most hits SHOULARS has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of MADDY CLARK, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
South View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lumberton only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, Purnell Swett fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Jack Britt on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 16-15.
Lanna Haggans stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Chloe Chavis, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
South View's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Purnell Swett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .417. However, it's not like Purnell Swett struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South View was able to grind out a solid victory over Purnell Swett when the teams last played back in March, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
