Seward won the last time they faced Crete, and things went their way on Friday, too. Everything came up roses for Seward against Crete as the team secured a 50-7 victory. Followers of Seward probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
The contest started off well for Seward, whose offense put up 29 first-half points. Meanwhile, Crete couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 29-0 heading into the break. Seward put the contest away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and seven points allowed from the defense. The win bumped their record up to 5-1. The loss dropped Crete back to even at 3-3.
Seward will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Hastings. Those two teams have set a high bar for this game after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests. As for Crete, they will face off against Beatrice. Neither of these teams wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable loss.
