The West Tallahatchie Choctaws were the 56-39 winner over the South Delta Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. West Tallahatchie fell to South Delta 57-51. West Tallahatchie has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, West Tallahatchie still got an impressive performance from Drexel Miller, who scored 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Lavoriontaye Willis, who scored seven points.
Jamichael Green continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Delta, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. The matchup was Green's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Amarion Sanders was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
West Tallahatchie has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for South Delta, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Leland the next time they take the court. West Tallahatchie will host Leland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while South Delta will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
