The Kennedy Crusaders came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Muchin College Prep with points to spare, taking the game 57-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kennedy also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Kennedy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Gallas out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joseph Dahl, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Muchin College Prep still got an impressive performance from Jalen McIntyre, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 40% of Muchin College Prep's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Richard Blancas was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Kennedy pushed their record up to 9-11 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Muchin College Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Kennedy will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunbar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunbar presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kennedy in Illinois (Dunbar is ranked 222nd, while Kennedy is ranked 539th). Muchin College Prep will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Noble Street College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
