Cruz also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making five total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
When it comes to explaining why Ray lost, don't look at Truman Thompson. Despite the final result, he picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nixon will head out to take on Laredo LBJ at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ray, they will challenge Tuloso-Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
