The Mesa Jackrabbits are still undefeated this season after their matchup against the Shadow Ridge Stallions on Friday, but the Shadow Ridge Stallions came as close as anyone has to beating them. Mesa had just enough and edged Shadow Ridge out 78-76. Given Mesa's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Shadow Ridge is ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Anthony Seumanu, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Conway Cummard, who scored 14 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Mesa's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Shadow Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Mesa will be playing at home against Desert Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Ridge comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Shadow Ridge and Maryvale will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
