Clearfield has gone a perfect 10-0 against Curwensville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Clearfield Bison will challenge the Curwensville Golden Tide at 7:30 p.m. Clearfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
Clearfield is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against Tyrone, falling 81-57. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 78th).

Despite their loss, Clearfield saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Braison Patrick, who posted 24 points, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Patrick's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ev Maines, who earned 17 points.
Meanwhile, Curwensville strolled past Oswayo Valley with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 66-50.
Clearfield better keep an eye on Davis Fleming. He was instrumental in Curwensville's win, going 11 for 17 en route to 28 points and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Fleming has scored at least a third of Curwensville's points. Tuck Tkacik was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
Curwensville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Curwensville's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Clearfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Wednesday's game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Patrick and Fleming. Patrick has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 19.2 points and 5 rebounds. For his part, Fleming has averaged 26.2 points and 2.4 steals.
Clearfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Curwensville when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 72-62. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Fleming, who went 8 of 16 to rack up 24 points along with seven boards and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Clearfield still be able to contain Fleming? There's only one way to find out.
