After having lost a blowout in their previous game against A-D-M, the Perry Bluejays were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against West Marshall by a score of 61-52. This was payback for Perry, who suffered a 59-57 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Perry was led to victory by Zander Mahler and Geren Kenney. Mahler scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Kenney scored 15 points along with four steals. The contest was Kenney's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Kaelan Davis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine assists.
Perry's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for West Marshall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Perry will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greene County at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Greene County is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. West Marshall will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
