Mayo proved they can win big  on Thursday (they won by ten) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a  run and slipped past the Albert Lea Tigers  5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Mayo pushed their record up to 11-5 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Albert Lea, they moved to 11-6 with that  defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mayo is set to  take on  their familiar foe Winona  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Albert Lea will  face off against  rival Owatonna  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
