Nicholas County has gone a perfect 5-0 against Calvary Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bluejackets will square off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Nicholas County turned things around against Robertson County on Thursday. They never let the Black Devils get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Bluejackets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Nicholas County got a massive performance out of Caroline Banks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Banks has posted since back in May of 2024. Hannah Watkins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Nicholas County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Calvary Christian not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 19-4). Everything went their way against St. Henry as they made off with a 20-5 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Nicholas County's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-20. As for Calvary Christian, their win bumped their record up to 2-15.

Nicholas County took their victory against Calvary Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluejackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
