They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Candlelight Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Candlelight Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Alejandro Hernandez dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds and Rah'Quez Shepard scored 31 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shepard has scored all season. Dominick Doers was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 19 rebounds and six blocks.
Winter Haven Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Winter Haven Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Mater Brighton Lakes Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mater Brighton Lakes Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Geneva Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Geneva Classical Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
