The Purvis Tornadoes won the last time they faced the Sumrall Bobcats, and things went their way on Thursday too. Purvis pulled ahead with a 46-45 photo finish over Sumrall.
Purvis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lillee Crider, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crider has scored all season. Breleigh Adkins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Purvis' victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Sumrall, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purvis will face off against Lamar Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sumrall, they will head out on the road to take on Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sumrall in Mississippi (Columbia is ranked 82nd, while Sumrall is ranked 273rd).
