Two dominant backs in Rory Dixon and Parker Hatter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Marian Catholic will welcome the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Marian Catholic, who comes in off a win.
Marian Catholic barely beat Nativity BVM the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Marian Catholic blew past Nativity BVM 41-14 on Thursday. Considering Marian Catholic has won five games by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Marian Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Price, who picked up 77 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 44 yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Price has posted since back in August. Jake Tom was another key player, rushing for 69 yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Marian Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Marian Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tom and Nolan Marsch. Tom got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley suffered their biggest defeat since October 18, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by Schuylkill Haven 55-20. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Hatter and Colton Reber. Reber had a great game and rushed for 307 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Hatter did his best for the losing side, picking up 75 receiving yards and one score.
The victory made it two in a row for Marian Catholic and bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Tri-Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Marian Catholic has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 165.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 162.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Marian Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in August, sneaking past 17-14. Does Marian Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tri-Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
