The Ovid-Elsie Marauders had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 14-3 victory over Ida. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Ovid-Elsie was the (much) better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ovid-Elsie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tryce Tokar, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 88 yards and a touchdown.
Ovid-Elsie's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Ida, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
Ovid-Elsie will square off against Lansing Catholic at TBD on Friday. Ida does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
