Brookelyn Rogers and Maddie McRae made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Rogers struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, McRae didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Rogers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Rogers went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while McRae scored a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josie Willey, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Ella Evans was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Creekside Christian Academy came up short against Covington Academy on Monday and fell 6-1.
Aviana Mathis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Creekside Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Skipstone Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Creekside Christian Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skipstone Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Creekside Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Skipstone Academy's sizable advantage in that area, Creekside Christian Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
