The Craigmont Chiefs pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 71-56 fall against Covington. Craigmont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Covington apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Wednesday.
When it comes to explaining why Craigmont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christopher Taylor. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. That was a full 39.3% of Craigmont's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tashun Lewis, who scored six points.
Covington found their leader in underclassman Devon Mason, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Chase Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Craigmont's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Covington, their win bumped their record up to 4-17.
Craigmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Covington also has no future games currently scheduled.
