Three high school football teams scored 100 points or more in a game during the 2023 season, marking the first time that many teams have hit the century mark since 1969.
Pender (Burgaw, N.C.),
Phoebus (Hampton, Va.) and
Tomball Christian HomeSchool (Tomball, Texas) scored 106, 104 and 103 points, respectively, this season. The trio of schools heads the list top 10 highest scoring games of the 2023 season.

1. Pender (Burgaw, N.C.) 106, Hobbton (Newton Grove, N.C.) 83
The two teams combined for 189 points, which is the highest combined score in North Carolina history.
Jeremiah Johnson and
Jassiah Hill of Pender each rushed for six touchdowns .
2. Phoebus (Hampton, Va.) 104, Jamestown (Williamsburg, Va.) 0
In a first-round regional playoff game, 10-0 Phoebus matched up with 1-9 Jamestown. The Phantoms led 84-0 at halftime and scored 11 touchdowns on only nine offensive plays.
3. Tomball Christian HomeSchool (Tomball, Texas) 103, Harmony School of Innovation (Katy, Texas), 0
The Warriors scored 10 touchdowns in the first quarter for a 62-0 lead and scored 18 touchdowns on 18 offensive plays. Tomball Christian also scored three times on interceptions and once each on a punt return and a kickoff return.
4. George Washington (Charleston, W.Va.) 98, South Charleston (W.Va.) 7
Patriot quarterback
Abe Fenwick completed all eight attempts for 200 yards and six touchdowns. Washington scored on its first 14 possessions.
5. Lubbock Christian (Lubbock, Texas) 96, Reicher Catholic (Waco, Texas) 0
Lubbock Christian scored 50 points in the first quarter.
6. Coosa Christian (Gadsden, Ala.) 94, Cedar Bluff (Ala.) 7
John-David Justus threw for three touchdowns and ran for three touchdowns in the highest scoring game in school history.
7. Vance County (Henderson, N.C.) 94, Granville Central (Stem, N.C.) 18
Javion Vines-Holder threw 10 touchdown passes in leading Vance County to the win.
8. Hurricane (W.Va.) 93, Capital (Charleston, W.Va.) 7
JacQai Long threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter and Hurricane led 65-0 at halftime.
9. Lincoln North Star (Lincoln, Neb.) 93, Benson (Omaha, Neb.) 0
North Star scored 49 points in the first quarter and 37 in the second for an 86-0 lead at the half. The 93 points broke the Class A state record for points in a single game.
10a. Panhandle (Texas) 93, Tahoka (Texas) 54
Panhandle's win marked the second-highest scoring playoff game in Texas history. The record lasted only a few minutes.
10b. Hooks (Texas) 93, Edgewood (Texas) 57
On the same night as Panhandle's win, Hooks defeated Edgewood 93-57 to move into second place as the highest-scoring playoff game in Texas history.
