The Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 63-43 defeat at the hands of Spring Grove. Wabasha-Kellogg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.
Brielle Adams and Madge Strobush certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Adams scored 19 points, while Strobush scored four points along with 13 rebounds and four steals. Strobush is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ileana DeAngel, who scored 16 points.
Wabasha-Kellogg's defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Spring Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Wabasha-Kellogg will be home for the holidays to greet Rushford-Peterson at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Rushford-Peterson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wabasha-Kellogg in Minnesota (Rushford-Peterson is ranked 95th, while Wabasha-Kellogg is ranked 344th). As for Spring Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Charles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. St. Charles is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
