The Draughn Wildcats will head out to  take on the West Caldwell Warriors  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Draughn comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Draughn's offense might be in the hot seat  on Friday considering what happened against Hibriten  on Friday. They were beaten by the Panthers 56-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Panthers are ranked 124th).
Meanwhile,  after only eight  points in their last  game, West Caldwell made sure to put some  points up on the board against Patton  on Friday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp  42-20 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Warriors' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.
West Caldwell's win came from a few key players Draughn will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was  Lathan Dula, who rushed for 49 yards and a pair of  scores, and also threw for 92 yards and two  TDs on only eight passes. Those  49  rushing yards gave  him a new career-high. West Caldwell's leading receiver  Jayden Quesenberry was  Dula's top target yet again, picking up 71 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns, while also rushing for 70 yards.
 West Caldwell was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 270  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 West Caldwell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Quesenberry and  Javontae Hallman. Quesenberry also  hauled in two  receiving touchdowns, which is notable because West Caldwell is 2-1 when he posts  at  least  two  receiving touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.
 Draughn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for West Caldwell, they moved to 2-5 with that  win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
 Draughn strolled past West Caldwell when the teams last played  back in April of 2021 by a score of  21-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
